Electroacoustic music at the Atomium

In 2004 I was invited to help close the Atomium on 18 September in a festive way just before a major renovation. The whole building would be filled with art in various forms. I was asked to fill one of the side spheres with my music. So I installed my 8-channel surround there and with my octophonic music I gave this sphere an atmosphere that typifies the whole building. This multi-channel music could already be heard in the tube that came from the upper sphere, because in the connecting shaft I had already placed small speakers next to the escalator.

The overwhelmingly present audience was immersed in the electronic sounds. The visual experience with the projected graphic work of a French artist (name?) fitted wonderfully in this setting and determined this remarkable and memorable performance in this world-famous location which in itself is already a symbol of experiment and spatiality.
